The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind is a 2019 British drama film written, directed by and starring Chiwetel Ejiofor in his feature directorial debut. The film is based on the memoir The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind by William Kamkwamba and Bryan Mealer. A boy in Malawi helps his village by building a wind turbine after reading about them in a library book.
The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Noma Dumezweni, Joseph Marcell and Aïssa Maïga. The film was released on 25th January 2019 in the 2019 Sundace Film Festival and would be released on 1st March 2019 in Germany.
